He agrees to let Xiaoliu transfer the bug over from Xuan to himself.
They head over to Haoling so they can be closer to Cangxuan for the ritual.
Xiaoliu enjoys her time under the sea.

Xiaoliu escapes by herself but returns for Jing after Cangxuan threatens to kill him.

The pair are thrown into Haoling’s Dragonbone prison.
Jing confesses to Xiaoliu. He tells her he knows she is not a man.

Drama deviation :
Novel escape is very complicated, involving 2 fox puppets as decoys, but drama simplified everything and used novel Jing’s diversion plan to just use the tunnels out of Qingshui Town.

Xiaoliu promises Jing to wait for him for 15 years.
They are freed from the Dragonbone prison.
Xiangliu arrives to offer Xiaoliu a chance to escape but she turns him down.
They arrive at Haoling Palace and stays at Cangxuan’s palace.

King of Haoling meets Xiaoliu and dines with her.
Xuan was shocked to find out that the King suspects Xiaoliu is Xiaoyao.
He realizes Xiaoliu has been protecting him, and he is pained to recall everything he has done to her since they have met.
Xiaoliu continues her cover of being a small town doctor and won’t acknowledge either of them.
The King tells Cangxuan to give her time.
Xiaoliu’s legs gradually recovers as the King grants her whims.

She finally reunites with her father and cousin.

Xiaoyao decides to take up her position as Haoling Princess so that she can support Cangxuan’s return to Xiyan.
Ironically, Cangxuan’s decision to return to Xiyan prematurely is so that he can have power to protect Xiaoyao.

In the novel, Xiaoyao took up her Princess position again because her father asked her to, not for Cangxuan.

Xiaoyao and Jing are happy to see each other.
Fangfeng Yiying crashes the gathering.
Xiaoyao is upset to see the others teasing the two of them as a couple and leaves by herself.

Drama deviation :
Jing invites Cangxuan and Xiaoliu for a gathering. Xiaoyao is keen to go.

Novel version Fenglong is the one who invites them to a party for Jing’s engagement.
Xiaoyao chose not to attend so she can avoid seeing the couple but in the novel she sees their boat passing by anyway.

She motions for Jing to stay silent so he won’t get scolded.
Xiaoyao did not tell Cangxuan that Nian helped Xiangliu get to her.
She returns to the palace to settle her score with Nian.
