Their architecture is elegant, decor is delicate.
Materials used are stone and wood.
Colors are harmonious and pastel in tones.
Rooms have large windows and very bright.

XIYAN is high altitude and cold.
The Palace is dark and halls gloomy.
Patterns used throughout are elaborate but there is a rigidity in the design.
Decor done in heavy stone, metals and dark wood. Fabrics used are heavy and hanging.

The only splash of color in the place, are yellow and reds.

Chenrong is the ‘fallen royalty’ of the Central Plains.
After their defeat in the war, this is the residence of the Minister – Fenglong and Xinyue’s father, who act as intermediary to the Xiyan kingdom.

It is very large, grand but also tasteful and not overly extravagant.

Beautiful gardens, well-lit rooms done in wood and screens.

Cang Xuan’s wedding to his first consort is held here as he cannot hold his wedding at the Zijin Palace.
